In May 1997, with the support of Gateway Community Church , a pioneer church commenced in Erattupetta, Kerala, India. This Church, beginning with just Pastor Rajesh and his wife Annie, has grown to over 140 people, with 4 outreaches in different parts of Kerala

Shekinah Housing Project
The Shekinah Housing Project has been started to help homeless families who have no roof over their heads or those families that are living in little makeshift homes made from cardboard, tarps or aluminium sheets.

With the generous support of friends and churches in Australia, we have been able to purchase land and build 2 homes for families who were living on the streets of Kerala.

Tailoring Centre
The Shekinah Vocational Training Centre has been started to equip women with skills in tailoring so that they can support themselves. With the generosity of friends and churches in Australia, we have been able to purchase 6 sewing machines and an over locking machine.

These ares currently being used to make clothes for our children in the children’s home.

Children's Home
The construction of Shekinah Ministries in India’s (SMI) first Children’s Home was commenced in June 2004 after a Building fund donation from Gateway Community Church, Morphett Vale. The roof was not completed until September 2006, but the first group of children arrived in May 2005. We had no facilities or furniture, just a building.... the girls were housed in the back of the adjacent church building.

By September 2006 we started with 12 girls and by January 2008, our building was finally completed and approved by the government of Kerala. We now care for and look after 32 children in our Children's Home!

We provide accommodation, food, clothing, education and medical care. Our children receive love and care and we develop their talents and ability based on a strong moral foundation through devotion and discipline that are part of their training and upbringing. This will ensure that a firm foundation is provided to produce future leaders.

You have the ability to sponsor a child in our Children's Home for AU$30.00 a month through Gateway Community Church's.......
