WHO ARE BRIDGE BUILDERS?
We are all called to reach out to people in need and promote justice, mercy and grace to everyone. In fact that is exactly what Jesus modeled to us.
Gateway’s “Bridge Builders” are a team of committed people who aim to make a difference to the people in our community.
 | WHAT DO WE DO?
Bridge Builders is a program that is initially aimed at supporting and assisting “at risk” youth. There are young people in our community who live rough, without a real place they can call “home”. We plan to make available, a place for young people to get a decent meal, be given some toiletries and clothes and to be on hand, should they need someone to talk to – no strings attached. We want to provide a safe place where they feel welcome and can come hang out. We also plan on opening up other avenues of help to them. As part of that, we’re working in conjunction with other services within the community and will do everything we can to connect those we reach with the help they need. The program will kick off 'once a month', but our aim is to increase support and provide ever expanding programs and assistance. |
HOW DOES IT WORK? Gateway Community Church will open up its kitchen and café area to those wanting to come for assistance. It will be staffed by groups of volunteers, each bringing their own gifts and skills to the program. And its FREE!!!!!! |  |

We believe this is what we are meant to do! We were born for this. This is our purpose. And we need to look no further than the words of Jesus for our inspiration. Matthew 25: 35-40 I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. ….I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
